Letting Go of Dreams

  When we were kids, we dream of becoming anything and everything. As I read this week about Randy Pausch and his childhood dreams. I was reminded of some of my childhood dreams of becoming: an astronaut, and a Doctor. Unlike Randy Pausch, I have not accomplished any of my dreams. I was impressed by how he kept his dreams at the forefront and reality in his life. He found ways to make them happen, they became his lifelong quests. He didn’t let opposition and other people’s views, or opinions come in the way of what he wanted and dreamed of becoming. His dreams became the driving force in his life. Why haven’t my dreams become a reality? It wasn’t as though they were not realistic or unattainable but along the way, they no longer became my dreams. Entrepreneurial Mentors and "Friends"

Becoming an entrepreneurial is a crazy and exciting thought for me. For the past, several years I have dreamed of owning my own food truck. The thought of having people eat and love my food is something I have only dreamed about.  This week I started taking Intro to Entrepreneurship at BYU Idaho. I have looked forward to this class with excitement but then at the same time fear. Fear because I may find out that being an entrepreneurial is not for me. Then what would I do, what would be my dream now? I don't have a plan B. I need to have other dreams and plans, but in the meantime, I am on this path to learn and see if owning my own business especially a food truck is in my cards.  As I began reading this week’s assignments about the process of discovery on the path to becoming an entrepreneurial, I could feel the passion rise within me.
